It was a hot night. Much hotter than he liked, and while he could have tried his hand at a few spells to adjust the climate in his room, he decided that it would be easier to just head to the first floor instead, where the heat hadn't risen to such an uncomfortable degree. Plus...he just felt like taking a stroll. And he certainly wasn't about to take one outside, not tonight, not with this heat and the mugginess in the air. So, this really had turned out to be quite the convenient arrangement.
One hand rested comfortably in his pocket, the other relaxed at his side, as he enjoyed the cooler temperatures, passing room after unnamed room in his aimless walk. His mind was untroubled, at ease, no musings to preoccupy it, and he found a subtle smirk forming at the corner of his mouth at the mere thought of his mother, tucked safely and far away, on the second floor. She always made a point of getting to bed no later than 10 o'clock in the evening, as staying up any later than that would be improper, and so the entire mansion was, for all intents and purposes, completely empty all hours of the night. Which, of course, worked perfectly for him. He had something of a soft spot for the later hours, as it was, and so an opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet was a welcome reprieve.
As for his father, he mostly kept to himself as it was, and so whether he was awake or asleep, it didn't make too much of a difference. Not that he was ever much of a bother, anyway.
After some time, he decided he might as well do something at least mildly productive with his time, and so, he opted to choose an actual destination in his wanderings. After a brief perusal in his mind through the most distinctive places in his house, he came to a stop on the library. Even if he didn't end up reading anything, which he might not considering the mood he was in, one in which he happened to be immensely enjoying all this time spent doing nothing, it was still always one of his favorite places in the Manor. As he veered in that general direction, however, walking through the entrance hall, he stopped short when he heard a loud clatter to his left.
He arched a single, inquisitive brow, shifting his silver stare in the direction of the disturbance, and the best he could deduce was that it must be coming from the kitchen. Hm...now, the question remained: was it one of the house-elves, or someone else? With a slight tilt of his head, he decided it wouldn't hurt to just go and check, and so he sauntered casually toward the Manor's expansive kitchens, pushing the door open with a single motion, and then coming to an immediate halt in the doorway.
"Rabastan?" he questioned dryly, his tone calm despite his surprise.
His gaze took a subtle turn toward confused, as he observed the boy who had taken it upon himself to make himself right at home. He was sitting comfortably atop the counter, the drawer open beside him, where he was rummaging through their silverware. Now, what was that crazy kid doing here? Taking a quick sweep of the room, Lucius noticed the freezer door stood wide open, and behind the young Lestrange's figure, on the counter behind him, he noticed a large carton of ice cream.
"Your kiss is cosmic, every move is magic. It's supernatural, extraterrestrial."

The sound of drawers opening and shutting, bags being ruffled and put back into place, filled the Lestrange home. The youngest of the brothers had begun his mission about ten minutes ago, in search of his delightful snack, but had yet to find it. He was sure they had remembered to grab a carton the last time they went out to the market, but from the looks of the shameful freezer, his ice cream was either in someone else's stomach or forgotten. And, upon realizing this, Rabastan let out a frustrated sigh before stopping to think about another option.
He could go back to the market, but if he did so, he would have to wait until tomorrow. They were all closed at this time of night, and he didn't really have the patience. So, he thought about all his possible options. The first one who came to his mind was Bellatrix. Though...somehow, he didn't think it would be such a good idea to rummage through her house, looking for ice cream. If she was home, she wouldn't be very welcoming, and it would be a little uncomfortable. She may not even have any ice cream. And, she she weren't there, which she probably wasn't, and he just looked for it himself, she could end up walking in, and that wouldn't be fun for him. No...hers wasn't the house to go to.
Next, there was Anton and Lia, but he didn't really talk to them very often. Plus...they were a little too much for him sometimes. They always had the most unexpected timing, too. They could just popped in when he was looking for it, and he didn't want to have to deal with that. Then there was Regulus, but...no. He wasn't really in the mood. And Snape, but though he was sure it would be funny to see him get all weirded out by Rabastan's presence, he wasn't that close to him, and he probably didn't have ice cream, any way. Even if he was okay with sharing. Snape had the lowest budget out of them all, so he probably wouldn't spend it on something like that.
And, with Voldemort being out of the question, the only one left was Lucius. He always had ice cream, and he never really had a problem with sharing. He was usually home too, and even if he wasn't, he wouldn't even notice that he took a little bit. And, if he happened to walk in during the process, he wouldn't give him too much hell for it. That's it, Lucius' was the place to go.
Making up his mind, Rabastan slipped on his comfy slipper-shoes and, retrieving his wand from its place on the counter, disapparated from his kitchen, appearing outside of the Malfoy Manor's kitchen window. Looking around, he ensured that there was no one else outside with him, and made his way to the back door, leading straight to the large room, filled with food and cooking essentials. Though, once inside his mind was immediately drawn to the large refrigerator. Really, when he though about coming over to the house, he planned to ask Lucius first. But, now that he was here, and upon looking around didn't see said man anywhere, he made his way quickly over to his the treasure chest before him, opening it wide and peering inside.
This was the reason he loved Lucius' house. It was always so well-stocked with food. Not that his wasn't, but for some reason, he didn't have what he could have sworn he'd picked up for himself at his own home. Plus, their food always seemed to taste better, and he had a wider variety of flavors. He saw the Peppermint, the Cookies n' Cream, Dulce de Leche, and some plain vanilla ice cream. Out of the first three, he wasn't sure which was the occupant's favorite, so he was hesitant to take one. And, the last just sounded boring. Digging around through the frozen foods a bit more, he found a little container of Half Baked underneath the first set of ice cream, and pulled it out. Good, he inwardly sighed in relief before walking away from the freezer, forgetting to shut it in his new search for a spoon. It hasn't expired.
He shuffled his way to the many cabinets line up high on the kitchen wall, proceeding to open the one by one, looking for where the man kept his eating utensils. It was so much harder to find things in someone else's house. Especially in one so large. As he made his way down the line, he let a few of the doors slam shut, while some were left open. He would just get to them later.
Finding not a single spoon, or anything of the sort, in the cabinets, he decided to check the drawers. Similar to his previous endeavor, he left a disorganized mess, rummaging through metal spatulas and measuring cups, before he decided it might just be easier to use his wand. Setting down his pint of ice cream, Rabastan lifted himself up onto the counter, facing toward the drawers so he could see their contents. Using his magic, he roughly opened all the drawers at once, looking through each in search for that perfect metal spoon. Though, at the sound of his name being called, he was abruptly pulled from his little world, only to find that silver-haired devil standing in front of the door, looking a little confused, but mostly calm, at the situation before him.
Looking at his surroundings, he realized that this may not have been the most subtle approach when it came to sneaking into someone's home. But, he didn't look too bothered by it. So, inwardly shrugging off the situation, Rabastan mumbled, "Hey, Lucius," to the man standing a few feet from him, before continuing in his search. "Where do you keep your spoons?"
When Rabastan returned to his search, seeming completely unfazed by the Malfoy's appearance, and opting to offer no explanation for his intrusion, Lucius could almost feel a chuckle forming in the back of his throat. The younger Slytherin had such a flippant attitude that always trickled over into his dealings with people, situations—anything, really—and he couldn't help feeling mildly impressed by that carefree charm. He had managed to make such a mess of their kitchen, and remained completely unapologetic for it. Such a rude boy.
Stepping further into the room, his composure unchanged, Lucius glanced behind his friend at the several open drawers and then proceeded to give a slight gesture of his head toward the appropriate one.
"Right here," he informed him calmly as he came to a stop beside it.
Taking one of the spoons in hand and sliding the drawer shut, he then held out the utensil for Rabastan and brought his silver gaze to rest pointedly on the younger man. He briefly wondered if he might explain himself and actually do him the courtesy of asking for it, and the ice cream, or if Lucius should just go ahead and question him himself. On the other hand, he could also choose to ignore it and behave as though this was a perfectly normal situation, as the two of them currently were. Hm...decisions, decisions...

Draco Malfoy: It does I've been so excited for it since I first heard about it. Always been my favorite, after all. Combine that with you and it's nothing short of perfect. We definitely need to see it together.

Hermione Granger: Oh, we absolutely do! It's always been my favorite, too, but I know how much it's always meant to you. You've always sort of reminded me of how the prince was before he became the Beast, haha!
