After apparating to the grand walkway leading the manor, Pansy observed the decorations surrounding her with a raised and critical brow. Lights were hung along the hedge-ways and illuminated the lengthy stroll towards the steps of the grand house itself. Music could be heard softly playing within and Pansy strutted towards the gate with her head raised and her stride practiced and elegant. She could hear her finest lady friend and sister apparate behind her and she glanced back with a smirk before walking through the open gate and following the trail of lights towards the manor's entrance.
Despite what she believed would become an unfortunate, disappointing, and upsetting evening for the Pureblood community, she was determined to make the most of it. It was, above all things, a most exquisite gathering. Even if the Malfoy family had fallen terribly in both respect and dignity after the downfall of the Dark Lord, they still retained the refinement of their previous station. They still held some measure of influence and only a fool would sneer at it. However, as far as the actual reason for this gathering, and despite the fact that there were going to be members of the...lesser society in attendance, Pansy knew that Draco was simply confused. He had become deluded and discouraged after what his family experienced under the rule of the Dark Lord.
He'd been left with a bad impression and so had begun turning against every aspect of their society, blaming their traditional views for what had happened. This was his idea of trying to prevent something like that from happening again. 'Poor boy,' Pansy thought to herself. 'So traumatized that he has to blame something.' The problem hadn't been their elitist mindset though. No, the problem had been that a half-blood was leading the charge, a hypocrite right from the beginning. He was a half-blood who became fixated on killing Harry Potter rather than focusing on the goals he'd preached beforehand. The whole situation had been ridiculous and poorly handled, in her opinion.
Draco didn't see it that way, unfortunately. No, he had been completely scared off from his upbringing and decided to do something both drastic and utterly foolish. It was a shame that he was about to disgrace himself further, it really was, but he had stopped listening to reason. It certainly didn't help things that he'd always had a weakness towards their kind, though at least he'd always tried to fight that weakness before. And it also didn't help that he had that wench at his side to encourage these ridiculous notions with her revolutionary, stuck-up views on the elitist families. It was enough to make Pansy's blood boil at times.
She wasn't sure what exactly was about to happen tonight, but she had a strong feeling that it wouldn't be anything good. However, she'd already said her piece to the boy on countless occasions and had since decided he could go ahead and ruin his own image further if he wanted to. She wouldn't take any part in it. Her attentions had been set elsewhere anyway. Towards a more...famous name. Granted he was, regretfully, also a half-blood, but she could work with that. He was only half tainted. The prospect of fame was worth the sacrifice. She could be revolutionary too. Within reason.
Walking through the entrance hall and making sure both Millicent and Paisley were still behind her, Pansy continued on her way towards the ballroom, the route completely familiar to her by now. She was pleased with the presentation of the convention, if nothing else. There was nothing she could really complain about as far as aesthetics. It was just a shame it was all wasted on some far-fetched fantasy. With a sigh, she entered the room, noticing the attendees were so far limited in number, before turning to face her pair of companions. "Hope you two are ready for a dramatic night."
